    Default calling impeller gurus

i pulled the bowl to inspect my new jet and have noticed the impeller is different from the few i have seen. i was curious because i can not hit my usual 5100 rmp (stuck around 4700) and the only change in boats is the addition from logs to OTT headers. the new impeller has an A stamp on it but someone has ground it in different places. first 3 pics are the new imp from different angles. 4th is it next to a B i have on the shelf and last is the old A i replaced with a new A from when i first got my last boat. can someone please explain what may be going on here and whi it has a lip in the farthest back piece and also why i cannot hit my Rs i used to

    thanks
    Joe

Joe when you say "new Impeller" are you refering to that nasty looking piece with the ground up exit blades ?

sorry i wasnt more detailed with my description at first.
tom when i say "new" impeller i do not mean new in life, just new to me. it is installed in the new to me boat i just picked up. the first 3 pics is the new to me one. the one with the exit blades ground down. the exit blades are ground sharp, opposed to having a flat edge as the B imp has in photo 4. i didnt know if this is how someone would change an impeller to the next letter designation, or if this is what "detailing" is. i cannot find any way to ID or steps to detail an impeller, just if it has been done or not.

duane the final pic does have cracks in the "a" impeller. i put it up for comparison. it was ruined. that was the very first jet i bought knowing it needs work. that was repaired with an overhaul kit i bought from tom in the spring of '10. i only have one more pic of it before i tossed it. i cant figure out a way this would even happen. maybe on the intake side, but those blades didnt even have a dent in them like most i see.
