    Default Set back pump question

Searched a bit and haven't really found the answer to my newbie question. Any help is good help

Sso here it goes my dad just gave me a 22.5' kachina that needs repair by the intake grate due to a hole. So my plans for the boat are big hp bbc and since I'm gonna have to do repairs to the hull I want to set the pump back and now for the stupid question. Do I have to move the motor back to match or do I have to get an extended driveline?

Main reason for a set back in that boat would be room in the boat. I'd move the motor back as well. Don't go too far with the setback. Don't break through the back of the boat if you can avoid it. post a few pics of what you have, a setback may not be in your best interest. You might be able to spend that time and effort elsewhere for results.
    Boat 405.

That boat is to big and heavy for a set back to add any performance gains imo.

x2 ... only reason for change on that hull would be interior room. HP would be a better place to spend your money.

So the boat being to heavy even with a setback pump it won't allow it to pack more air?
