Having starter issues.

Hey all! Brand new to the site. I recently bought a 81 Lavey Craft jet boat with a 460. Within the first few weeks, the starter went bad and I had it re-built. I put the starter back in and it worked great the next two trips to the lake. Now, it is making a noise, when attempting to start, that continues for a few seconds after the motor is running. It sounds kind of like a drill at high speed. I pulled the starter, and the top of the teeth are slightly worn. Just wondering if anyone might know what the issue could be. Thanks.

sounds like the starter is staying engaged,have the shop that rebuilt it take a look at it.
