Default Any advice on how to fix this ( Gelcoat related)

I posted this over in the fiberglass section , but maybee need a little more exposure. May be some of the gel gurus will see it here.
I was just looking for some advice as to how i may go about fixing the bad spot on the gell. the whole gel scheme is done as a fade. If it were a solid color i would just tape it off and re spray the area, but it is a fade and I would like to keep i that way.
I almost looks as if it has a clear gel on top and the clear and the darker blue has been rubbed off or deteriorated.
When i put a little water on it it seems to almost come back but not quite. There are a couple other spots that look a little faded but not this bad. Here is a pic of the area in question.

Looks like you have two shades of blue gel along with some clear gel as well, basically a blend like you would in a paint blend in an automotive scenario.

    Thanks Todd.
Is there any tricks to color matching the gel? Should I use a neutral or white gel to mix the color ?
So I guess I should try to match both colors, spray the lighter shade of blue then try to fog the darker color blue, sand then clear?
Hell if I can't fix by wet sanding and polishing, I may as well fill the dam holes where the stupid worthless ski tow was mounted.
What is the finest grit that should be Sanded to gel over? Thanks....Hal

Well i did a little test sand today. This is the spot after wetsanding with 800 then 1000. It basicly took what was left of the darker color off and left the light pastel blue that was underneath.

And here is the culprit. The previous owner had the cover cut out at this area ,for some reason and the sun must have beat on it.

You will need the entire transom to the radius to blend & fade the gelcoat & clear. You may want to consider paneling the area with a matching stripe/colors similar to the sides or front.

I really don't want to put any more stripes on. I am not sure how I would go about that without making it look too busy. I would really like to just keep it the way it is.
Can any one explain the process to go about spraying a fade, in gel? I have a good idea as how to do it in paint and I am sure it is basically the same in gel, except I would have to work faster.
Normally, I think you would have three guns loaded with paint at the same time, but that sounds disasterous with gel.
Should i spray the lighter blue first, then the darker on top followed by some clear gel tinted with the darker color for the transition?
With the exception of a few hardware holes and some gel touch ups, the rest of the gel is in great shape, and nice and shiney. Thanks for any help.....Hal
