This was when Tommy Papp was alive. We had a guy who was trying this and that, blah blah blah. Long story short, boat wouldn't air out.
We told him to try different headers. I had a set of short twisty headers. Swapped them out and he picked up ET and all of a sudden the boat reacted to set up changes. He ditched the Borlas immediately.
And yes ... I'm serious.
But what does a guy who doesn't race anymore know lol
Another note ... I'm seeing two different set ups here. The Borla headers where never intended for boats. They were designed for Super Comp dragsters. The Rewarders were designed for boats, but still create downforce. If it works for you ... cool. But most of us are trying to reduce drag, not increase it.
If you don't think there is down force, you have another thing coming. Just put your hand behind the header at idle & you'll feel how much exhaust volume is coming out on the trailer. Think of that on water under full throttle.
Where can i find a snoot like that for a 2 four barrel set up.
I'm sure going from a totally flat collector to a what 7 degree upswept would have minimal increase on downforce.
ok guys ... good luck.
I must be on crack. I see all the guys in UBFJ running upswept headers because they work so well. Hahaha
Have fun out there!!!
