Log question?
Does anyone know if the snail portion of the exhaust logs are universal when it comes to the bolt pattern?
Asking this because in my search for 454 logs I see a lot dont come with the snail portion of unit.
I would hate to score a set of logs and not be able to source the rest of the exhaust.
Also, V drive or jet boat exhaust are the same, correct? Engine placement should not matter?

Not really "universal"
Typically the flange holes are drilled "custom". So the chances of the holes being a dead on match being bought from different sources are pretty slim at best.

Most snails are universal... But just measure to be sure. I personally dig the snail with a step down which can be removed to run 3 1/2 to gain a bit more flow. Some snails are double drilled or drilled at an offset to put snails either in or out of vertical. I believe there is only one style of gasket as well. When you get logs..get a pair that are offset to match heads. This will keep your snails at the same placement.
