more. did you not dyno the thing?

the first time i put my sw in the water 11 years ago with a PUMP GAS 538, it ran 101/10.13. it wasn't a gps reading. i only had 10 gallons in the side tanks at the time. but i know what the observed numbers were, i know what impeller was in it and i know the rpm it turned. the last year they ran the 1/2 second brackets at ming, it ran 111/9.48. turning the same cut impeller virtually the same rpm.
looking at my most recent dyno sheet, compared to the rpm i'm turning the impeller, the chart isn't remotely close to accurate.

you're doing well with it, and that's great to see. but your engine would have to be pretty fracked up to gain another 50hp just in tuning. the gains are going to happen working the setup. i'm not suggesting you'll ever pick up 10 mph or over a half second of et. but the setup is where the improvements will come from. keep workin it - it's never perfect...

no dyno my hp # is purely based off a similar motor that made more then 700 on the dyno and a few educated guesses from people who helped build and contributed to my build... as far as setup goes I'm not expecting drastic changes. I am however expecting a bit more out of the impeller cut and getting this motor on the pipe. at 6000 its singing but she aint screaming.

I've had mixed results with this boat and hardwear and i can tell you this particular boat reacts well to even the smallest changes. For example took the ride plate down a degree and it ran 5 mph slower then my initial setup. went up with the air plates a deg and porpused at cruising speed when it never had before. more then hardwear id say the biggest difference is weight in the boat. I tossed a cooler and the wife outa the boat and i ran 10.2 mph faster on the gps. I'm sure if i was really horny to break into 100s i could strip shit like my back seat, radio, all the extra stuff in the boat and run only a few gallons of gas and get there easier. is this is a river boat and takes us up and down the river almost every other weekend....many times ten to fifteen mile trips to find beachs or visit the dam.

First off, Tim and Paul are two great guys. Tim helped me so much with my Southwind, and Paul with boat motors. Great guys that really don't expect much in return. I hope to repay the favor some day.

And Mr HB, is that a dis on the family wagon?

Thats what I am talking about. The other deck I keep running takes EVERYTHING out of his boat. Next time, I will put his ice chests on my boat and run him.

How bout a 2-3 mile run at 5500-6,000 rpm?

Welcome to the convo a week.later dan. No I was reffering to offshore lake boats that take ten minutes to get on plain yet run 100. Ur boat moves good for a bigger heavy boat

Agreed, it would have been more fun had he further developed it. Imagine if it had additional options such as "Inducer (Yes/No)," "Loader (yes/no)," etc, even nozzle ring size. It's a very clever spreadsheet...but in the end it remains about as real-world as most any other desk-top dealio.

My power estimation of Adam's engine is based on what I personally feel is capable of it and that's why I'm proposing a HP number greater than what the JPC spits out.

Twin or a big ole single is the plan... Unless I get a deal on something else. We will see what pans out. Collecting parts in August, should be done for the TP deal.
