Funjet mini jet rebuild

I picked this boat up last summer and just now got into it. I was able to get the motor running easy when i first got it but never took it out. I knew i would have to do some work to it as it looks as if the nozzle had been damaged at one time the modified to work. I was hoping to install a diverter on it since some mods are needed.
I took the bowl off tonight and saw that is was pretty bad inside.

So first question would be can someone help id the pump and do you know if parts to rebuild are out there.

Funjet is the make. gotta take a tape to it for exact length as it has slipped my mind.
It has a 60 hp 2 stoke motor hooked to the jet.

Awesome! You don't see too many mini jet boats out there. It's hard to fit a decent size engine/pump in such a small boat. I am building a custom mini jet boat out of an Addictor. I love your boat and can't wait to see you bring it back to life. It looks to be in pretty good condition for the age! Hope someone chimes in to help you ID the pump. there is a website for the name tag i posted. they have a mini jet on there but a different brand then funjet. I am in contact with them to see if they have parts for pump.

bowl is torn up and will need replaced the impeller shaft has alot of wobble in it so it will need complete overhaul if not a new pump if i can not find parts.

Your project is awesome i have been watching your work. Very impressed on how it is turning our for you.

Mini jets are cool for sure. Looks like they are gaining popularity.
i had my eye on mine for a year before i picked it up. it was just sitting out in the middle of no where on a 2 lane highway with a sign.

how is this little build coming along. It would be cool to have a meet up with the mini boats we are all working on. mine is moving slow due to issues getting parts but i hope to have her up and running by the end of the season

From what i can tell the pump is a Morita. Seems parts are hard to come by from a thread i came across. There is a small glimmer of hope as i found 2 websites that may be able to help and also may have found a complete pump and motor set up for it of the same make.

Motor compartment usable space is 23" wide x 33" front to back.

If any one has an idea of a ski motor/jet combo that may fit feel free to give suggestions

Got an email back form someone who says they have all the parts i will need in new old stock and i also found 2 complete pumps to look at. I am hoping the new parts do not cost an arm and a leg

So with some research. i have found that this is the same motor jet combo that came in alot of the wetbikes in the late 80s and 90s. After the Funjet they came out with a new model which is know as the Jetstar which is 12 to 13 feet and wider and seats 3 people.

I have found a new pump complete as well as a used one plus it seems the parts are out there for these still you just have to do some work. Of course my budget will be over what i wanted but when is it not. So the good news is i can continue with out much delay other then funding

so i got this from ups today. I found it on ebayfor just under $250. It is off a wet bike. It looks to me that most parts arean exact match with the exception of the suction housing which on the jet boat has. houses so water can enter and exit motor .

The impeller shaft is in great shape compared to myoriginal one as well as the impeller. the bowl is in a lot better shape as wellas its bearings are still good. One vein has a small chuck out of it.

Now i was going to have to modify my old bowl towork and i will have to do the same with this one as well since it came off awet bike. i had a thought of welding a berk nozzle housing to it so i can mounta diverter if wanted but i am unsure if the 2 parts can be welded together. Ihad also thought of making a mount that i can bolt the nozzle adapter to buthave not thought of any clean ways to do it at this time

I wouldn't do the berk nozzle, the diameter of the nozzle is smaller than a berk nozzle (unless you open op the old nozzle and machine a nozzle in the place diverter that matches the stock nozzle).

The funjet nozzle is alot bigger and i do not think will perform as well. i will post pics of the 2 to compare. The bowl will need to be modified as i did plan on opening the bowl to match the berk nozzle just placed there to get the idea i had.

Now i have welded before but would not call my self a pro by any means so if the 2 parts can be welded together any suggestions on a place i can take it would be appriciated. i live in lake elsinore.
