Sanger mini day help

My cover broke a couple of years ago. I could not find one that fit. I then went looking for aftermarket light. All the ones in store were too big and would have to resize the hole. did not want to do that. so I am fabbing some type of cover that I can utilize the holes to bolt it down.

The v-drives will get up and be safe when modified for a delta bottom. The jets however are delta bottoms, which typically from a jet boat perspective isn't the best for speed. The biggest issue you have is the insert pump as they just aren't what you want to go fast. My boat is a 76 mini jet and is one of only a handful I have seen that are not the insert pumps. I am still trying to get all my ducks in a row to get my procharged 502 in my mini. I don't know of anybody else that has tried to put anywhere near the power I am into a jet sanger mini. I'm kinda afraid to see how it'll react but I'm just going to take it real slow.

Thanks Mouzer. That light is different. Im sorry, I just threw out some bait on the factory light to see if someone had removed one. I'm in no rush, but am a buyer if one comes along.

As for the power plant question. I am not trying to make this tug boat a drag boat. But a little more power never hurts right! That 502 sounds perfect to me

Well....it should be nice with the big pulley and 7-8 lbs of boost, probably around 800-900hp. The 16-18lbs setup is probably going to be too much at 1200+ HP. But we'll see!

i have 2 mini days. one jet and one v drive. last time the v drive was in the water at about 73 it wanted to chine walk. the jet is about 52mph. i like the sangers but i dodnt think they are the fastest hulls for a 20 ft. i think the hp in your 76 is overkill. is the boat box stringer or full ? i believe after 81 all were full stinger but only ordered that way prior otherwise it was box. trust me i love my sangers but if i wanted to build a huge healthy 20ft hull it wouldnt be a sanger. id look into hallett or shiada

I was thinking more in the range of 500-600. I dont want a belt for any kids to get there hair or fingers in. I do use my boat as a day cruiser. I have not gps my boat with the new intake and carbs but it feels good. sets @ 5100 rpm. Before @ 5000 rpm with torker intake and single 850 it went 63 mph. Which i feel good about, I am just hard headed and dont know when to leave a good thing alone i guess

with modifications to the bottom they can be fast but still not as fast as other hulls. my v drive wanted to chine walk at the low 70 mph. i saw one at cfw several years back that a guy ran it hard but also seen it to some voo doo stuff. enjoy it as a cruiser. 5-6 hundred horse is quite a bit. call tom at jetboat performance great guy and knows his stuff. think you might have to reach deep into pocket to go to much faster

My cruiser is a box stringer, but I heavily modified it a few years ago. Basically I pulled the floor and wet foam out. Added a massive center stringer and 2 mini support stringers, then added a new 1/2 inch floor and rail kit for the engine. The boat GPS'd at 62 MPH with a mild BBC and the AA aluminum impeller I had in it spinning about 4700 RPM. The new setup should be a pump gas 700-800 hp spinning a HH stainless 9.5. I have no clue how the boat will handle, but its easily the most solid boat I've ever owned. I'm not planning on breaking any speed records, I built it more for the wow factor. There is nobody I have every seen or heard of that has put any sort of big power into the jet, so it'll be trial and error I suppose! Who knows, maybe the engine will come back out to get put into something like a daytona and the sanger will go back to being mild, but I just LOVE the sanger cruiser! Easily my favorite boat ever built.
