I kind of have information on this ... just a little lol

Rotella T3 and/or Tripple Protection has a 15w-40 with ZDDP count about 1200ppm

Regularly available at all auto parts stores and WalMart too.

Not only can you use in your tow vehicle ... but in your boats engine as well.

As far as additives ... Torco's MPZ Magnetic Friction Reducer is the way to go if you feel the need to add one. If you're like me & are anal about oil changes and wear ... this is a no brainer ... add it.

That's my combo, Rotella T3 & MPZ MFR

Guess my response would be > why not just run a good quality performance oil that already has what you need in it?
Just wondering but, what make us believe "diesel rated" oil has an edge over a quality off-road/racing oil?
Diesel oil is heavily designed to suspend the 'soot' produced by the it's 'compression' engine.
I kinda like and use Valvoline VR1 synthetic Racing oil. 20/50
Prior to that I was all about Brad Penn Racing straight 50...but I do believe the 20/50 has a better pump-ability to it when start up occurs...and...it makes it's way back to the oil pick-up faster. (just my way of thinking) Plus it's Synthetic > I notice it takes more load time to build heat in the oil and the oil holds pressure better ans does run cooler vs dino.

Great chart for "Lucas motor oil" not knocking it, but questioning why bother with the "stabilizer"?
Ask Lucas for a breakdown chart/additive package of what's in their "oil stabilizer" > and that's what put them on the map.

I gotta think the 'stabilizer' just gives it's user a warm-fuzzy feeling about using it, nothing more...and that's good marketing
This seems like the ticket...Extreme Duty Marine Oil

I like the valvoline because of the price for starters, i have been runnin it for a while thats why i havent decided to switch to anything else. I dont like racing oil for only one reason not alot of detergint. other then that it kicks ass. due to the fact i got a 25 year old engine that sits half a year with oil just sitting in it i think the detergint is a good idea to keep things clean.

I started out on this little quest because alot of people believe in there theorys and i think thats great and not knocking them. even i got my little lame ass theorys on why i run what i do too. i wanted the facts for my self, however all i could find is data that was old from 07 and 08, and a little form 10. I know that this stuff due to our gracious government is changing all the time.

So i called and got the facts for myself, in 2008 valvoline premimum blue had 1400 ppm, getting off the phone with ron at valvoline corporate it now has between 900 and 1000. these are the facts and thats what i wanted to know and share them with the community, i think they are important.

I would have to agree with you about the oil stabilizer, i have used it many times, i dont think it is anything amaising, i agree it is a feel good can. I got to tell you i find it funny that it isnt listed on the chart they sent me. wouldnt you think an oil additive would have a high amount of ZDDP and they would want to show that.

The rest of the summer i am gonna run what i got in there and add some ZDDP additive, either the ZDDPlus or maybe the lucas additive. i only wanns get to 2000 ppm ZDDP, because to much can be harmfull.

As for next year maybe run what i did this summer again, maybe do the lucas marine oil way bad ass. or maybe crack open the 3 cases of VR1 i have at my shop because the class 1 that use to have we sold and we arent gonna use it for the other cars because motor builders are weird amount what you run. imagine that haha.

    Cool I Agree

I Agree with Jet Pilot, I follow Dale in Hesperia's advice he has a deep knowlege on boats. I find it hard to get there for oil so I run Royal Purple 40 sae, with their filter and i run a sweet 70 psi oil pressure ,and I dump out a couple of quarts every time I go out and replace it just to keep it freshened up. it's a little expensive but if you don't want to take care of your boat then sell it.
