78 25ft crusader possible jet conversion good or bad idea

ok guys i got a 25 ft crusader its a small cuddy style day cruiser flat bottom rear hull... it was originally set up with bbc and velvet drive with dana outdrive... i still have the dana drive but im kinda at stand still on transmission issue and fixing hyd... i was wondering if it would be a good idea to convert to jet drive or should i find a velvet or powerglide trans swap... i would like to have a faster reliable boat.. 65-70mph... i have 2 motor options 472bbf 500ish hp or 468 bbc500 hp lol both built almost identical stock crank rods and trw with cast heads.... have acc for both and manifolds...

Bad idea.....way too much work! and results would be terrible. That boat wouldn't touch 50 mph with that power and a jet. There is a reason why just about every boat bigger than 23 ft has an outdrive. Just fix the boat the way it is, it'll work much better for you. And all this coming from a Jet guy.
