Chris shuts down great, I'm more then happy with the whole setup on my boat, just wish it was a bit heavier, took a little test and tune time to get it dailed but that was the fun part.

    Boost, boat looks killer!!!!
There are no gullwings running in the 7's! Not 18' or 19'. Tunnels yes and that is because it is a totally different boat and I would bet dollars to donuts that they are runnng a launch control to get those small impellers to get them outta the water the way they do.

Here is a pic of mine running at firebird. It runs better at the river but the set is good IMO and it took almost three years of trial and error, test this test that to get it to here.

True !!!!! Wasn't really referring to GW just jets in general. how does the launch control work???

Guess I just jacked this thread all up, sorry to the OP

My boat is pretty heavy and my engine sets 21" from the transom. It carries the nose pretty good and runs pretty dry. I'd like to see alittle more lift in the whole boat and get it ridein on the keel kinda like boosts boat but don't know if it will due to the weight. Thanks for the info Need4Speed

My boat is heavy too. I am 190lbs and can walk on the deck all the way around the boat. It weighs about 600 bare. I run pretty dry and on the keel but it took a lot of work to get it there. My motor is 21" from the transom too but my pump is all the way out the back so that a pop off would clear the transom without hacking into the transom for it. so with the jetaway and drive line, and the pump all the way out the back, I am at 21". So it is definately doable.

    What kinda HP you runnin???

My pump is stock location, half way in half way out. I done a few things over the winter and finally hit 100mph but I don't have a pick of it running so I'm not sure what it's doin. Our boats are pretty close to the same weight, I'm 680 without engine and interior

I run a BC imp, inducer, w/NO launch control and I flat foot it from a dead stop.
    Motor @ 23"
    2 1/2 degree backcut shoe
    Hyd diverter on timer
    6' blocker
Full interior 650lbs hull & leaves hard like an 18'

we run similar stuff in the #905 but with a launch control.

Basically one is controlling the acceleration rate of the engine on takeoff so that the engine is not out accelerating the pump. If one has enough power to accelrate the pump past the point of keeping the impeller loaded, and runs through the impeller, this "burnout" slows acceleration.

There are various methods of controling from a simple switch or timer controlling a rev limiter or timing retard, to more elaborate slew rate controllers, etc.
