    Default Sanger pickle setup ideas/advice

Hello all, I purchased a Willis/Sanger jet tunnel a few weeks ago and am to the point now to start trying to get some tuning done with this thing. I know some of you think these are shtty hulls to make go fast, but I am looking for a high 80 to bottom 90 for now. Boat is pretty decent as it sits but not really up to my standards as a show piece. I just want to have some fun for the rest of the summer and restore it this winter if I like it. The guy I bought the hull from mainly just putted it around and wanted a rooster tail..... I will show pics of how it was setup and where im at now. I will have some speed numbers tomorrow. I tried it a little last week and im turning the a/b 5700 so far and I have some tuning left on the motor, but didnt get any speed numbers.

The pump had a straight droop on it and a pile of wedge that I took off. It has -3 deg on the ride plate. Also I am supplying a pic of the loader, havent looked for the shoe yet. I think this loader is a cheapy let me know what you think...

I also have a race diverter 3.145 id

    Thanks!

not really knowing anything about how to make a pump perform, i think the set up in the pics looks like the water is bending back and forth a lot before the exit.

it is a sweet looking boat.

why are they not preferred as speed is concerned?

I know there was a thread a while back where they were saying they were an 85mph boat tops without having a blower.... This design hull was built for a v drive hydro from what I have gathered on here. I no longer have the straight with all the wedge just the droop and 1 wedge. Thanks for the compliment.

that "loader" is what's known as a speed grate. don't see any provision for a shoe...

leave it alone. run the long droop if you like, ditch those extensions. the bottom turn pin is way too long, and causes huge drag. a rudder hanging off of it is even worse drag. get a pin that fits, or cut that one so it's flush.

Thanks but I'm no expert. I tried so many different combinations it wasn't funny. In the end I just felt like I was chasing my tail. What it really needed was some bottom work to get rid of the flat keel.
