1975 Wriedt Stinger

Can anyone tell me about this boat? I don't seem to find anything on line. Its a 1975 Wriedt Stinger 18ft. It has a engine cover and the passenger seat is turned around backwards for a water ski observer. Not sure if that is the way this boat was set up from the builder or if someone just did this along the line.

The engine cover is full glass and I think original from builder, but again not sure. 460 Ford and Berkley Jet pretty typical for the time.

The boat is in very good condition, including interior and gel. Haven't heard the motor yet, but seller says runs good.

Any idea of value?

What you have there is an almost pristine example of a Wriedt Stinger from what I can see in your pictures. The engine cover is somewhat coveted by alot of wright enthusiasts as manay were discarded. If it were me I would not start chopping away at anything on that boat but restore what little things need taken care of to return it to as original condition as possible. It's value is in it's most original form. Enjoy it.

He's asking $3000. I think I can get it for $2500. What do you think?

Bought It! Yea, I don't plan to change anything. I really like the "Hood" and the fact that this boat is a survivor. Just clean it up and enjoy it.

Still if anyone else has some knowledge of this boat I'd love to hear about it. I found a photo of the original sales brochure and it mentioned the passenger seat "Swiveled" for the observer. This one is bolted down with no swivel mechanism. Anybody have one or know about it?

Jerry Wriedt is still alive and kickin in Wylie, TX. Not sure if it will help but might be worth shooting him an email with a couple pics of the boat. Beautiful boat BTW. Looks like you got an excellent deal on it.

I was wondering if that was the same Wriedt. Thanks for confirming. As soon as I can get some better shots of the boat I'll send them.
