intake/footplate gasket

I put a new gasket in but i'm still seeing water coming out of that gasket, what do you guys use to seal that up.

I have been using a large file to make the sealing areas flat before assembly.

I am still amazed at how wavy MOST of the pump related sealing surfaces are from the factory.
