Hull Stabilizing Fins

Hey Guys, My fin just forward of the jet intake was broken off
& I'm searching for a replacement. The Hull's a 74 Kona shallow V.
Would anyone know the angle off hand? Glenwood has a 13deg
one, but the bolt holes don't line up (5"L X 2.5"W ctr to ctr).
Mines at 4"L X 2.5"W. The glenwood one will work if the angle's
right, but I don't have an angle finder, So I thought I'd go
fishing first to see if anyone's dealt with this........

Hey Eric;
Are You talking about a scag? Is the fin foreward of the intake ,in the center of the keel and not part of the intake?
If You refering to a scag, Mine does'nt have one. The scag is usualy used on roundy boats (circle racing boats), to help the boat from spinning out in the corners. Im sure they may have other uses I'm just not sure what they are. You'r hull may have been set up for circle racing ,at some time,or some one may have added it for some reason,but I really can not offer any info on it becouse Mine does'nt have one....Hal

Hal, Yeah that's it--- a skag. When I got the boat from one of
my buddies the skag & both the intake fins were broken off. I
guess they grounded it a few too many times!
Tom; the original dimensions were 3 7/8"W X 6 3/4"L. The bolt
holes were 4"L X 2 1/2"w on ctr (2 per side). There's a little
degree to it, but not much. I'll get a pic on Sat when I drop
the intake in. Thanks!

Ok,heres another question. My eliminator has one and right now i'm having work done on the bottom. should I put it back on? It's a 19 ft. mini cruiser and it really doesn't have much of a v bottom.

Yes Ben put it back on, I have driven that boat with no fin (not good), you need it for turning to keep it from slidding or spinning out.
