In 1989 when my brother and I were looking for a new boat to buy this spread was in Hot Boat Magazine. We both called a couple of the other boat manufactures that were advertising at the time, Cole, Avenger, Orange County Marine and a couple of others. None of the others would do what we wanted to do with a boat except a CP:

Does anyone know if these boats are still around ?

The Light Blue one at the bottom is. It belongs to Dave Blankenship, and it's out of Lost Lake. I see it every summer. I assume the Brown one is around also, somewhere.

The other Blue one(top of picture) I know is gone. It was a 'River Tunnel' that just didn't work out. Bill could never get it to ride right at slow/moderate speed even though it was a heavy layup. I tried to purchase it awhile back, but it was already scrapped, (I saw the debris).

Mine is painted kind of the same color and design, but a little different.

I remember that issue as well. I had owned my Cp for a couple of years and was impressed that you could buy a boat of that quality for $18,995(I think).

For a couple of years they actually had CP in their annual boat evaluations. I think I remember them talking about how nice the ride was, and how quick the acceleration was for a mildly powered boat.

I need to scan the cover it was a good shot. I sure wish I could find the magazine with the impeller chart in it.

Great photo. Back in the day when 18-19' boats were common and the women had real tits.

I wish I had a copy of this issue. It was in on the throne for many years. We sold our 1987 Vector and bought our first 19 CP due to this particular issue. Had a gullwing for pleasure and a 18' race tunnel ever since. I have had 18 boats in the last 20 years. Always loved the cp. See you all at Big River this year.

That was the October issue and we purchased our CP right around Thanksgiving and we had the 454 junk pile pulled out :p had our 460 put in and we had the boat at Christmas. We didn't hit the water with it until the last week of April.
