Yes there are ways to donate & fund raisers coming.
Tom Bandy is currently working on setting up an account specifically for the donations/funds raised to go into. This account will be a secured interest earning money market account that is seperate from the normal treasury accounts. It's not so easy because he has to work with the Securities Co. to give them our non-profit tax id numbers, officer signatures, etc.
It should be set up by next week. I will post details as well as send out letters to our members ... current and prior (maybe we can bring some back )
We are looking at an event at Irvine Lake (cool details to come soon ), NJBA jacket & flex fit hat sales, 50/50 drawings, etc. etc. etc. all that will go into our light/equipment fund.
We (NJBA) are really trying to take care of our racers, while we are a club that's run by volunteer members ... we still need to have a level of customer service if that makes any sence. We would like the racers to have fun and enjoy their experience. Part of that is updating our equipment and offering the best venue we can.
If we all pitch in, we can make this happen. It's not a cheap project, about $40k by the time it's all said and done. Last year we had 140+ members ... so that means if we asked for $285 from each member, it could happen. But some members might be on a tight budget with the current economy ... so we figured that asking for donations might work.
Basically, if our members know our needs, they can help ... if we say nothing ... nothing will happen.
