    Default Jacuzzi 12WJ maintenance

    my buddy has a 12wj that just grenaded and now we found and installed a rebuilt one. what are the proper maintenance procedures for lubricating these pumps?

    Keep the thrust bearing with Extreme pressure Lithium Grease only. There should be a zerk for it. Pretty sure you can use the same stuff for the tail section too, though other lubes would work well too. Just dont use the water proof crap.

    How often should i grease both sides and how many pumps?

    Maybe 20 pumps on a fresh thrust bearing. On the rear, maybe 5-10 pumps initially.

    After that, at the beginning of each season I give my thrust bearing a few pumps. Rear I do every other trip.

    X2 Good advice here ! don't "over grease it"

    You just need to keep the bearing cavity full. I take off the 1/8 pipe plug on the side of the bearing cap and pump grease until it comes out there, put the plug back on and your ready to go.. Jim

    This is the weak link of this pump----don't over lube, don't under lube or failure. Been there done that
