Leave the motor where it is!! you will spank all your friends on take off and it wont speed up a bit with an H-joint but will make the boat stand up on take off. (wasted power!! and lost et.) I have set em up with longer shaft than that. Rember drag racing is about getting to the finish line first!! I agree with the thru bolting of the loader, that is a safety issue. That can cause you to get wet. Good luck with the 'blood you can see all our gang at www.youngbloodjetboats.com you can see mine by clicking on "hottest jetboat" If you have any questions you can e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
My motor is up that far ( 26" from transom to rear motor plate ) and I still blow up on the hole shot, full set back Dominator, Berk droop, MPD prepped B/C Berk impeller. Boat jumps completely out of the water and unhooks the pump and it cost me a rod bearing when it stretched the bolts on #5 ( pretty sure that was it ) was wondering if anybody was having this issue and if so are any of you guys using HTP snoots instead of standard droops ( no diverter )?
When i flat foot the boat out the hole no bow up over here it gets and goes thats with the diverter in the down position, how do most of you guys lunch your boat? I usually make a pass to set the diverter.
For me I leave with it on the wood sprayin it from a dead stop with no place diverter and it hooks up an goes. It is worth the timeand work it takes to move the weight around in the boat to get it just right. Placement of the motor is the largest, but you have other stuff too, fuel, battery, nos bottles etc.
Had it leaving perfect till I put the MPD impeller in it and now it hooks so hard that the boat jumps out of the water when I am by myself, if I add the weight of a passenger it stays down.
My hand hole is outside the hull and the boat leaves hard with no cavitation. Still playing with it just not sure how far to push it. Spins an A impeller 7200 rpm no problem and has more to go. Depending on the economy next year it might be at the track to play
I dont have any cavitation at all the boat just jumps out of the water and unhooks the pump because the intake leaves the water at least partially but some say completely. One passenger and it is fine and leaves super hard, i just have to tune for the weight reduction I guess and get the bow down to keep it in the water
should i try to leave on the nitrous to get it to set better? I thought more power would make the problem worse
