I had a 19' Miller with a 115 Merc on it and it was a fantastic boat. Probably the best boat I've ever skied behind and it ran 60 with just me in it. Ah memories...
Pops, we were at Ski Land once in about '82 ish (I don't remember when they shut it down. I remember it was the year of the flood at Parker so this must have been '83) and got beat by a Tahiti in our Rogers. This guy in the Tahiti was running NOS and it was really the first time I'd ever been that close to a boat, or next to a boat would be more correct, and seen or felt the power of that stuff. We were both on the top end and then he was gone. It was as if I threw out an anchor. We also lost the cam that day and to make matters worse I had to go to work on Monday and tell Roger that we lost to a Tahiti. lol
Ski Land, best place on the planet to ski with out making the drive to the river.

Other way around.
Tahiti bottom was a splash of the Glastron Aqua lift. Schuster and Gil Gaska, who lived right down the street, borrowed a brand new Glastron from a dealer in Bellflower and splashed the hull. Gil was the guy that put the little target on the side of it.
Ray Weiman splashed this, Regattas and a few others. Ray never had a glass shop, Schuster built his hulls. So really, he could offer for sale what ever molds were at Tahiti across the street.

Was Art Carlson at Glastron then or still building his hulls. Glastron had the facility out in Anahiem then and Art was getting royalties for his bottom which he had a patent on one of the Glastron bottoms. He may have been running the shop in Anahiem as I would go to Glastron if I wanted to talk to him. Don't know if Art is still doing anything.... Last time I talked to him, Reggie was going to produce his 45' a full cabin and a runner and Art was going to get Royalties. Good Man.

Schuster splashed that glastron bottom in '64. I think Art went there in the late 60's. That's just a guess though.
I have no idea what he's doing now. Hopefully enjoying a well deserved retirement. He was at the circle races at the Marine Stadium last summer and was inducted into a racer hall of fame. One of his tunnel V-drives was there too.
I may go by and see if he still has a shop in Garden Grove. We were going to proto a Dual for his Simi Tunnel Cruiser which I had a friend who was building rep small block motors in 16 cylinders back east. Can't remember the company name (Will Next Week or so). They did produce several motors and were funded in Big Bucks.... First class major CNCs, Dyno's and a strong engineering team. Art and Fountain used one of the motors.
