First time in the water

Well she got wet today. Some plusses and some minus's but she floats and thats prolly the most important.

The engine runs strong except a minor water leak. I found it and I had left a bolt un tightened... oops.

However i did have a question. i filled the bowl with 90 weight but the water gettting pumped by the jet seems to have oil in it so i think its leaking. Is this normal?

I dont think so. So if not i need to replace the oil seal in the jet. Any thoughts on price and level of difficulty?

i got some vid but its only from the no wake zone. didnt want to take the woman out with my digi cam in a boat i was not sure was not going to self destruct. But ill post it up shortly.

Shawn congratulations hope you had fun !the 90 wt leak prolly means you bowl seal is displace,worn or fowled (fishing line etc) not the end of the world ,easy to replace or you could switch it out to water or grease lube etc ,seals cheap, works relatively simple, Tom

It's possible you installed the seal backwards, i was told if you do this they will pretty much immediatly blow out. Also there's two brands of seals ones soft and you can squish it in your hand and the other is hard. THe hard one i guess has a better chance of staying in place, expecially if your putting down anything more than stock BB power. This is what jack at MPD told me anyway...

If i remember correctly both seams should be facing the impeller... so the part of the seal where you can see the coil wire should be facing the impeller.
