Hello all, I just looked at a mid 70's Bonneville, sans engine, was wondering what kind of power it will take to push one of these to the mid 80's. Would this be a good C/J hull? Anything to look out for?
My '73 Cyclone is getting alot of work over the course of this winter. They are one of the V-hulls that can be pushed really hard without being to worried about poor design. I had mine running 65 with a slipping pump and a worn out Olds. I will be swapping to a Chevy BB and reworking the pump when it gets too cold to play. It also depends alot on weight vs H.P. vs impeller size.
Thanks folks. Hopefully picking it up Saturday. Seems solid enough, tapped all over the hull, stringers didn't notice any weak spots. It'll be one of those winter projects.
