Daytona 21 question

I'm thinking about purchasing a 1979 Eliminator Daytona 21 jet. just wanted to know the plus or minus on a daytona of that age. What i should look for. It was original a jet from eliminator. I've been looking for a 21 Daytona for a while now, just don't know much about the differences in the hulls throughout the years. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stick a pic up....I love my 1981 21' daytona. If you need help with the pic pm me. Is it orig gel everywhere? Check the stringers ect.

A 1979 Daytona had a flat keel! If it's a nice boat and the price is right dont pass it up just because of the flat keel, it can be fixed!

You'll love-love-love the ride...but, in a JET application they DO require a LOT of HP (which I don't have) to make them work, and they don't even start working until it's well over 50 + mph.

The early 21's had flat keels ? I thought all the 21's had rounded keels, but I'm still learning. What year did they change to the rounded keel ?

As I remember when we tooled the 21 it had a small 5/8's radius on the center keel and is still the same bottom that you will find on the newer 21's. The 21 Phantom has a larger keel, never measured it but it appears to be possibly a 3/4 inch radius.

Thanks for the help so far...Taking a long drive Sat to check it out. What would be the factory location for the pump? where would the clean out be located, middle of transom?

You had better not dilly dally around > someone else will snatch that Hull up in a heartbeat!

Factory location for the pump > it depends on where the owner wanted it (or) where Eliminator, or someone like Greg Shoemaker decided to put it.

Originally mine was well inside the transom > I did the setback myself.
Don't worry about where the pump is > just go get it
