Whats the Most you would pay for this???

99? Pantera Jet Boat 18 ft in length

454 chevy engine, 4 BBL carb, Jet drive, Glenwood aluminun headers/ exhaust.

runs good, took in on a trade so I have never had it on the water.

6 seats with engine cover. custom trailer built for the boat.

One More....

He is asking 3000 or obo. What would the Mouzer Pay...
How much could one sink back into it to get it to look Decent?
What Kind of Jet pump is it?

I wouldn't pay more than 1k for that thing. The interior is shot, the trailer is beat up and im sure the floors are rotted. Plus the motor does not look like it has ran in ten years. Could be a good project. Looks really bad for being a 99. Not bashing you just giving my .02 You might be able to get 80mph out of a Panther but not worth spending the time or money to do so. I would just swap it out with a Berkley. Oh yeah and the sky is the limit on how much to invest into a boat project.

Thank you! That was the truthful information I was hopping to hear.... Sometimes I think I am better off waiting for when the time is appropriate and buy something in better condition.... I already have a project boat I am working on now....

No problem. Seriously for 3k-5k you can get some pretty descent starter boats right now especially with winter and Christmas approaching. Not to mention the economy. Where are you located? I will keep my eye out if you want.

if you look on CL in CA, you can find complete boats for around 2000 right now and more in the winter that could use a little cleaning and be ready for the water. I would say 1800 would be the most I would pay after lake testing. That motor looks like it has been sitting for quite some time, batteries, Starters, tires, cables, everything does not like sitting for long periods of time. So assume you will be replacing all that.

I agree with Dominator. If you want anything resembling performance (or a good platform to eventually build performance) I'd steer clear of Panther as well as Jacuzzi jets. While I know Jacuzzis (and presumably Panthers) can be made to perform well, you'll spend a lot less and have more to choose from if you stick with Berk pattern pumps.

Thats what my better my conscious was thinking but, I was seeing a nice boat in the end... I was thinking I would offer 1200... Yes, might be low balling but, in the end, I probably would have sunk 12k into it.... I think my best option is hold out until I find one I gotta have and I have the disposable funds in hand...

Thanks for offering your help but, I will be honest, I think I will have to hold off until next summer unless I find a similar one to this, including the metal flake.. The wife wants me to get one boat project done before I buy more...
But, I am always thinking of having another back up for summer fun... This site is free to join and has all the build pics so far...
