I'm going to need more power from the little LS motor to be competitive, but I can get more experience driving the boat in the mean time. I did not run Sunday due to teething issues (wiring and computer glitches) but I should have that sorted out by Parker. I have a long list of people to thank for helping and welcoming me into the class including: Harold Jr & Sr, Terry, Brad, Ron, Gary, Mark, Nick, Ralph, Lance, Jim and the list goes on... Thanks to all for some great new friends and clean, fun racing.
As to the boats performance, I ran a best of 86 mph (gps) in the first heat on Saturday, about 8 mph off the fastest pace. This was pretty evident when Nick, Ron and Mark got around me on the first lap of the final. After that the engine went south with computer and fuel delivery problems and I finished 7th which was last. There is no engine or boat damage.
Looking forward to Parker next month...
