#100 Another Royal Flush Build

Little background of this build and what the thought is behind it. If you read up on Forester133 thread you would have a little info on my dad's boat. Some of you probably knew the boat and my dad. My dad raced his boat called Royal Flush from the mid 70's to the late 90's. It was a 18' Texas Performance Gullwing. Over his years of racing he won high points in his brackets (MPH and E.T.), Ski Jet and overall high points numerous times. He also held the Ski Jet record for years at 8.99 with the best run of 8.90 at 109 mph. After my dad retired from racing he ended up selling his boat and got into drag cars. As I got older and being apart of the drag boat scene ever since I was born I had a calling to get back into it. So I got this 18' California Performance Gullwing that needs a overhaul. Since my dads boat was such a big part of my life I decided to redo it. Bring it back with the same number and name but calling it Another Royal Flush. The plan with the paint is to have the same paint scheme but with a modern TRG look. So this is the build so far and will add pics as I go. I want to thank Don, Brian Forester, Bob Johnson, the Tip Top Team, and of course my dad.

This is the start of the build which is to redo the trailer. The plan is get a dolley trailer down the road so didn't want to put to much money into the trailer

Great to see you following dads foot steps. Once you get this stuff in your blood your screwed. Your pops used to dominate the 95-100mph bracket. My dad and the 200 crew used to call him Mr. 99.99 . Joe would run 99.99mph on saturdays and 101mph on sundays cause of the 1% break out rule. Dialed !!! Cant wait to see this all come together. TRG will do a sweet job thats a given....

Last September at the Elsinore race, I was pitted next to the Forester camp(good group, assisted me with carb issues), was introduced to your dad...last time I saw him was in the 90's, (was testing for Ventura County F. D.), I was doing the physical agility test, he was my timer for the whole event, I had on a Misson Foods drag boat T-shirt, he talked (mostly, I was workin my ass off) about drag boats, racing, what I had, etc. After the event I showed pictures of my boat and we talked for awhile, good stuff, I think he said he rememered that. Good people!!! Good luck with the project.

Still remember that day,trying to answer him while carrying hose and climbing stairs. Remember talking to you that weekend also, I'm sure going to try to get out more this season, need to get the boat(and driver) fine tuned, LOL
