In my opinion the best battery on the market is the Odyssey. Heavy duty commercial type has a full 4 year warranty. Cost more than others but worth it. you will need a special battery charger for the Odyssey battery that cost $ 55.00 and you can use it on all types of battery's. All you need to know is the dimensions of your battery box.

I would first find out why 1000cca is NOT ENOUGH for your project???? If it has an old, huge starter on it - I would first replace it with a permanent magnet gear-reduction starter. It will draw half the amperage of the old ones and turn twice the motor at the same time.
Odyssey and Optima are both great batteries. Either of them would turn over pretty much any engine a person could build for a boat. As long as it had a new-generation starter to match the motor.
Have always used the Optima Blue top battery's with never a problem . Last one was 6 years old. always on a battery tender when boat is setting. Best place to get one is Costco. Think you my have other problems than your battery ?
I also run a blue top Optima. Current battery is going on 7 years old and cranks my 12-1 motor with zero issues.
US battery! Is he running a big stereo system? How many batteries? I got another member here a good deal, let me know if your interested.
