It's a wildcat built from .223 brass necked to take a .308 bullet... Most common in the AR plaform... It's really close to the 300 whisper but without the annoying JD JONES trademark so anyone can build/sell barrels/ammo/etc...

It's pretty sweet since there are tons of options on .308 ammo that are cheap, it takes the .223 bolt and GI mags for the AR 15. The only change is the barrel... There are also alot of SUBsonic loads worked up for this one if you have one of those interesting long round cyls. screwed on the front of your gun...

Muzzle velocity is right there with the 7.62x39, with less powder its more comfortable to shoot and the energy level is way over a .223 at 100 or 200 yds since were talking about a bullet that is anywhere from 125-220 gr...

Hey Steve, it was great to finally get to meet you. I hope to put up a few photos from last weekend soon... My son has a TON of high resolution/large format shots so we should have some good ones of your passes...

I think Im going to take a drive down so that I can see just how close it is to the strip and scope the area out... Out to Wheatland from STL by way of I-70 and back via Hwy 44...
