WORK HARDER, MILLIONS ON WELFARE DEPEND ON YOU.
That opinion was not very biased was it?lol Not exaggerated on HP either probably.
The smallest aspect of one compared to the largest of another. that might be considered politics. lol
Put that 153 cube engine in front of the jet pump and the turbo in front of the prop. That should even the field.
Really two completely different types of boats. Can't take one aspect from each and compare. They are different. The accurate thing to do is compare the outboards to each other and the jets to each other.
But that is impressive for the Allison for sure.

Just giving kudos to Rich as there is more left in it believe it or not..
Rich was 9mph faster then any other whacker there including at least one capsuled one
seriously, how much power did the twin turbo jet have?
do you think the 150 inch whacker can make 3hp/inch without spray?

I like it when someone brings up the HP/CI argument. Kind of reminds you of the kids in the Hondas with a huge 6" exhaust pipe.
Ya. They lose and try to whine and flip you and the big, inefficient American V8 off and say they make 2 hp per cube.
Only valid comparison is outboard vs outboard, jet vs jet, etc. Unless you want to line up against each other - then hey. It's all good!
A weekend or so ago I lined up against a twin turbo BBC jet at Broken Bow and got taught a lesson. I usually wait until I hear the other guy's engine come up; then I hit it. Bad move vs this guy. We mph'd the same - were tied together with him in front a bit. Talked to him after and found he had a 1.5 sec lag time after he hit it before the engine came up and the boat reacted. Hey. That's lake racing. Next time - when the nod is given - I'm leaving! (I'm ready for a rematch, BTW)!!! I have MUCH respect for the turbo jets!!!![]()
That mile long and extremely high rooster tail is called a "sorry I spanked you and your outboard, let me wash your boat for forgiveness"...
