My condolences to all of our community who knew John. I was at the Chouteau races last weekend and saw it happen. I also saw them remove John, And I don't think he suffered at all. It must have been instantaneous.
His sponson's got squirrley just before the 1,000' mark and then one dipped. It looked like the capsule opened and thus slammend him into the water unprotected.
The mood was quite grimm after this, but we kept on racing after clearing the track.
His run would hav been a 4.76.
We all will miss him.
