Just put it in my calendar. Should be an awesome weekend.
There were a bunch of Bajas gathered at long pt island this weekend who are doing the poker run.
There was a guy there named darrel (???) who from what I understand organizes the event.
Looks like there will be a good turnout!

I would really like to participate in this poker run but have a few questions about it. Are there any restrictions on the type of boat or can i take my 19' sanger? and how does a poker run actually work? thank you
Alaskan Assassin... thats what they call me.
Assassins do it from behind.
Never, under any circumstances do you take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night ,..m,.m,.jn...
OK I will give you what I know about the poker run. I also ran into darrel this past weekend at the lake and grilled him on it. We had a blast by the way. Any boat, any size can participate. Register online. The card stops will be boats that will hand you a card when you approach them. There is alot more to this event then getting the cards so check out the details online.
I hope that helps.
Were you there on long pt island Havasu Sun?
I had never met darrel before, but I guess he is dating my cousin (lisa).
FWIW, My dad is doing the run in his 21' Baja, so there will be some small boats. I think we are going to do it in my buddies 32' Pachanga, In case the water is to rough for my little tunnel.

Yep, I was there on the island for the better part of the afternoon. That is a really great group of poeple who hang out there. They had quite a party going. That is the first time I have seen steak and lobster being served at a lake party. My boat is the blue and grey 26' Ultra Shadow Deck that is in my avatar. If you ever see me out there come on by and say hello. I always have cold coors light in the ice chest. That was the first time I met Derrel. Seems like a good guy. I am glad to see people like him supporting and promoting our lake. The poker run should be a blast.

Scott,
We were up and down the lake all weekend and did not see anyone hanging out around long point, especially that awesome ultra...sorry we missed you guys.
Did you buy that ultra from clay? Very nice boat!!!
You can usually find me in a 26ft. American Offshore Cat or 27 Victory, I will make sure we say hi next time...
If Darrel & Jim Nichols are putting on a poker run at the butte, I can guarantee it will be a great event and a great time...tell everyone you know because this event will only get bigger and better if the turn out is good!!!
Hey Don, that was you in the American Offshore??? We were camped on the end of long point (south side) right next to the camp you kept coming up to (the camp with the wakeboard boat). Dave salazar said you cruise an american offshore from time to time. My cousin that was there used to work for Dave and Mark (Mark was down there too with the HTM). We kept meaning to come over and say hi and check out the boat...but never got around to it.
Then we rolled a truck sat night, so that put a damper on sunday's activities!! lol

Yes sir it was...
I did see the HTM on the water and thought it might be Mark but I never did get a chance to say hi.
Next time I will pay close attention and make sure we stop by and say hi.
Actually, the American Offshore belongs to Lonny, I just cruise with him from time to time...
Ouch, I hope no one got hurt and the truck was not to bad!!!
Is that the same American thats on craigs right now??
