Can anyone comapre the San Jacinto to the Lower Colorado outside of Yuma, AZ? I grew up doing the Lower Colorado, Fishers & Martinez, and I'm curious if there are similarities. I have a 25' Rage and took it to Martinez this summer and had no problems.
honestly i havent ever been to the lower colorado over there, but the san jac is a nice place to run, there are alot of big boats down on the lower san jac just south of lake houston, i've seen cats out there as well as deep v offshore racers.
Appreciate the feedback. I'm in San Antonio so that's a LOT closer than Yuma. I loved the river like many folks around here. The great parts are the sand bars, the scenery, friendly places to tow a skiier or a tuber, and the community (trailers) and a combination restaurant/bar.
Does that sound at all like the Jac? Are there places to stay on the river ie. cabins to rent, bars, restaurants?
Any links to help me plan an initial trip would be appreciated.
not really any where to stay on the river that i know. are you coming to plowmans in two weeks?
but, I honestly don't know where that's at and I'm not sure I'd be welcome as a 25' boat with a wake that could swamp boats pictured in this thread. Can you give me some links to marinas, places, to stay or a website where this is discussed? Thanks.
what kind of boat do you have? cause i have seen offshore boats there before, offshore racers that is.
It's on the small side for an offshore boat but the large side of jets and v-drives.
I'm getting a little more clarity here. Plowman's is on the Brazos by Kopperl and the Upper San Jacinto is down by Lake Houston? Is that the place where there was a lot of pollution in the river?
Here's what I'm looking for:
http://www.flashearth.com/ search martinez lake
I'm guessing the San Jac and the Brazos are similar? Plowman's looks to be about a 4 hour drive from San Antonio.
Really do appreciate the education on this!
we dont run the trinity, dont know anybody that does either.
HAY MaGoo.....Boats running again......puttin in at Big "A"...will run up to the River.....
