Need some Hawkeye IA Boating tips , were are the party lakes at ???
Hello,
Need some help, I was wondering does anyone know of some good Boating/Party lakes in IA. Were I live in IL we have some food stops and some bars like Blarneys Island. What lakes or river in IA has parting, boating, ladies and fun. Please let me know!!!!
I am married but can still boat and look !! LOL

I would like to go try Blarneys. It sounds great. I boat on the Mississippi river around Clinton Ia. There are some good spots and bars around Princeton and LeClair Ia. We have a couple of sand beach’s that have a lot of summer activities as well as nice sites for viewing and people watching if you know what I mean. Also have a place they use to dredge sand we call the sand pits that is one big party. The river takes some getting used to. Got to watch the wing Dams though. They are hell on outdrives. I have not been yet but I hear Dubuque is a blast.
Isnt Buck eyes from Ohio State. We are the Hawkeyes. Just an FYI. LOL

And can you give some boat ramps on the mississippi? I can look up their location.

Blarneys is a bar that is located in Antioch IL out in the middle of the Lake. The bar is floating and in the summer just a blast. Blarneys is on the chain of lakes and on thursdays they have drag boat races every thursday in the summer with all diffrent classes including my favorite the unlimited class. They also have the off shore boats that show up and your standard run abouts you name it . Blarneys is a big party, lots of Tits, Ass, nice boats, good food and no speed limits on your boat. Gets real bussy but who cares.

Des Moines is about four hours away. They are more to the middle of the state and we are on the east side across the River from Illinois. We are 30 minutes North of Davenport. You could check out local 25 or 125 if you are union affiliated now. They actually have fitters where I work right now. If you guys get interested PM and we can set up a weekend to come out and check us out. There are some nice boat ramps but I use the one at 9th St by Wendy’s and the Clinton Marina.

So you usually stay below the dam? Lots of back water areas above the dam. But more boating down below Commanche. The only problem with the Mississippi is that there is a lot of trash in the water. Yeah usualy stay below the locks. Where are you at? sounds like you know the area. Not too bad as long is the river level isnt rising. I look at as an opstical course, makes it funner.
I am currently off playing Army, but I do know a little about the area. I recruited for the National Guard there for two years. If I get the flat running right, I'm going to bring it up and hopefully run the river with Butch. He has a white Biesemeyer and lives in Commanche. I stick primarily with smaller boats so I stay off the river when it's rough. But the river through town does offer some nice water for passes on most days.
When I'm not deployed I live in SE Iowa and currently work in Waterloo.
