Woodward reservoir??

Does anyone know if Woodward Res. north of Oakdale is hotrod friendly? I've heard from a few different random people that it is.. If so, how about camping?

I cant really say any more, but it used to be cool for hot rods, but camping is like setting up a tent in the hood, watch your stuff.!!

Woodward is hotrod friendly, the camping is first come first serve. Most of the sites are developed with some of them being full hookups, and a good amount of them are right on the water. It is a small lake and they will keep taking payments and letting people in reguardless of wether or not there are any empty spots. On a holiday weekend you can expect to see people pitching tents around the R.V. dump station (holidays are a total cluster f*ck at Woodward).

Woodward is only about 25 minutes from my house and it is the wifes favorite place to camp. If you go during the week Mon-Fri it is really nice, but I would rather not go there on the weekend.

Oh I forgot to tell you that they call it WINDword because it can get windy there in the afternoons. Go check it out for yourself, it can be very nice, but it depends on the people that are camping around you.

These are a couple of pics from a weeklong camping trip we did there two years ago. We showed up on Sun afternoon and left on Fri afternoon, and had a great time.

They do have showers but not enough of them and the line gets long. Its better to wait until about midnight to shower.

Have you checked out new hogan? Its 30 miles east of stockton and it is a good size lake. I would rather go there. You can make reservations online and you know that yout spot will be open when you get there.

This weekend next weekend any weekend the place turns into little T.J if your into fights shootings ect. It's the place to go....

I have a spot lake side at Hogan on fireworks weekend. Been doing that for like 5-6 years.. Was just kinda curious about Woodward cause of the smaller size like CFW.. Me and my buddies wouldn't do well in a little T.J. or little Oakland type situation so I'll probably chalk Woodward up as a no. Thanks for the info guys..

Another good place, specially during the week, been the only boat on the water on more than one ocassion, along with a couple jet ski's. One word of caution, no animals allowed, and no portable fuel jugs.

Yea, better off just making the extra 15min trek to CFW.
