    Default Houseboats on Trinity Lake

We are looking to do a houseboat trip in July.
Had planned to go to Lake Roosevelt here in Wash.
But the houseboat rental contracts are not being renewed by the National park service.
So, Has anyone ever rented one on Trinity?
    Any tips or suggestions?
    Thanks

My family has been doing trinity trips for the past 30yrs. Forever resorts has the nicest houseboats on the lake. A little spendy we went 2yrs ago and a 56' with canopy and bar up top was right around 5k for a week. there week is sun to sat. Trinity alps also has house boats but there the older style.(not the wide body) still ok and probably alot cheaper... not a super big lake but VERY pretty...Were thinkin about a july trip....

You will come back every year! Lake level will be good this year and there is never anyone on the lake. Even 4th of July it's empty compared to anywhere else california! Trinity Alps Marina has some great deals going. We are going the week before the 4th on the big houseboat and we keep the pontoon moored there. Forever resorts/Cedar Stock has nice boats, but twice as much $$. There is only 87 octane on the lake so bring booster or your own fuel. Trinity Alps gas is about 5 cents cheaper too. Only one Sheriff and she goes home at 5. Never seen her hassle anyone either. Lake is the 3rd largest resevoir in Cali, so there is plenty of room and easy to find your own cove. Hard to see the whole thing on a tank of gas, even in the wakeboat. There will probably be gas on the north end this year with the lake coming back up too. We'll probably see you there!

Here's the website. Great people and they have a sweet bar and restaurant at the marina as well.

Few more pic's. There was a fire at the end of the season and it got a little smokey in September and October as you can tell by the pic's.

Nice! They have sweet boats no doubt. Good people at both marina's. Have a blast and maybe I'll see you there. There aren't too many sandy beaches, mostly rocks, so you will want to be on anchor if you bring your Rayson. Excellent fishing as well. You can sly catfish off the back of the houseboat at night. One of very few lakes in California I would eat the fish out of.

Plenty of room for those too! I can't say enough good things about Trinity. It's the lost jewel of the state and I kinda like it that way. The main arm is a 20 mile run through a wide canyon.

We keep the pontoon moored there so a lot. I'll start going fishing next month and mid may it's warm enough we start going every friday-sat that we can into october. We have a houseboat booked the week before the 4th of july. Late July is the warmest, but sometimes the wind will kick up late afternoon for a bit. Just make sure you are tied off to some really good stumps in a sheltered cove. We learned that one last year! During the week you feel like you are alone out there. Past captains point we barely saw anyone last year, but I assume they will open the marina on the north end this year with the water level coming up. It's going to be a good year.

Closest grocery store is 30 minutes away. The marina's have beer and the basics. Live bait only at cedar stock for some reason. Trinity Alps marina by the dam has a bar and make a great margarita and a pretty good chicken sandwich. Floating restrooms in various coves, but I swear they move em around to mess with you.
