    Default Noise Violation Clear Lake

I am vacationing at clear lake with my sanger hydro. Met a guy today that said three guys got busted for noise violations down at the southern end of the lake at Indian Island. Said the fines were $500. Anybody on the lake hear about this? The fines sound pretty steep, are they usually that much?

That is a new one to me. We have been on the lake all weekend, heard many hot boats. The patrols usually only go after the zoomies or someone who is nailing the throttle in front of a populated area. I have been running dry stacks with tips for years. No problems.

I thought so. We have not had problems with the sherrifs running dry. I know there is a quarter mile set up down by Indian Island, which is also a 5mph zone. I bet they were racing and got nailed.
It's great to see the lake full, last year was just sad by August.

My house is right off of Indian Island and did not see anyone stopped the entire weekend. It was a surprising quiet weekend.
I saw a Shrif's boat buzz through late yesterday on a routine run.

    Default Noise level

I had a chat with the Clear Lake boat patrol. He said if you think you are loud you most likely are, and need to respect others. He won't stop someone from being loud for a short time under acceleration to make plane or even jump on it. But if your too loud for too long look out.
He also said stay away from the north shore if your loud, someone there complains.

    Default boat patrol

There has been a group of hot boaters drag racing around indian island with complaints. Apparently in violation of other water way laws. They are using the noise violation and other similar violations to take enforcement action on the boats involved.

I have run v drives on this lake for many years and have never had a problem, over transom, blower motors, dry stacks. Boat patrol just wants you to be smart and safe especially if you are running at the higher speeds.

My brother did put it in at Red Bud around 5:30am last Fri. All black gellcoat ski hydro. Hope he wasn't to close to the shore, we know we are pretty loud running with the short dry pipes.

Lake Counties air boats are louder than any hot boats. I just talked to boat patrol Sgt. the other day. There is some one you calls the sheriff any time hot boats are around Indian Island, so they have to respond. And yes, the fines are almost 500 bucks. So be cool..................

I just bought a couple of tips (for a diesel pick-up) from the local auto store, welded them on. pictured on the bottom. No water ran. Brought the decibles down a few during idle. Dont have the show look, but function well and still let me hit peak rpm on the last engine I ran.

That's someone in my community for sure. There are a least 3 homes with miserable older retirees, and they just love busting peoples balls.
I can't wait for them to croak.
