Depends which way you want to go, but i would say Modesto Res. or Woodward Res. (in Oakdale) would be the closest.
There is a lot of people going to New Melones this weekend.!!
Try Orwood Resort right out of Brentwood, I take my Cole there once in a while with no issues. Miles of good water especially during the week. Going out next Tuesday if you want to meet up.

No problem, will be there Friday also with the larger boat. The Hookie Day deal covers some miles, a variety of water, and last's all day, just sayin, not sure what type of boat you have, but thought you should be made aware.
