Default Looking for a good OMC Mechanic :(

This last holiday weekend I needed to get towed in L I have a 1985 Banher with OMC I/O. Engine is fine but no forward or reverse. It started with a repetitive thunking. Then the sound stopped and so did we. I live in the south bay, however I am willing to drive to have it done right.

    Anyone have someone they trust?

    Default outdrive repair

It would be worth your while to give Glen at Pleasure boat Specialties a call. He is in San Jose and his number is (408)432-0217. Glen runs a one man shop and is not only honest but he is very helpfull.

    Good Luck,
    Chris

I am in Morgan Hill and can give you a hand....The biggest hurdle will be finding the parts, they will all pretty much have to be aftermarket. It sounds like a water pump shaft and an upper tower shaft in the upper gearcase (stupid common)...I will send you a PM with a phone number...
