Default Clear Lake , California 2011

A thread started up recently by Skippers WFOT (scavenger hunt). Sounds like a good idea since Clear Lake is big enough for it. If anyone is interested for future get-togethers, cruises, possible future events, let me/us know. We do have ski races on the lake which is great. The best window for Clear Lake is between April til June. After that, the plant life takes over the shoreline. There are many campgrounds, restaurants, resorts, gas docks, parks. Lets get some things started for 2011.

just stay clear of the city of clearlake, or the oaks, unless you like meth heads and trailer park trash.

There are many locations around the lake. The easiest location by Lakeport is at Vista Point. There is a Visitors center there that does mussel inspections. It is located just off Hwy 29. Take the Lakeport Blvd Exit. On the East end of the Highway you will see a Dept of Agriculture sign. Turn just pass that sign and head up the hill. You will see the center there with a parking area and a big turn around.

The lake does look good. I might up for it this spring. It all depends on what the doctors do next with my wife. Her heart failed just before Christmas. http://www.record-bee.com/ci_1703196...ce=most_viewed

    Jim,
So sorry to hear that. She seemed fine when I saw you two at the ramp last summer. I hope she gets better soon.
Did you ever change that ignition switch?

Annette was fine til December. She started having chest pains and her weight increased from 116lbs to 130lbs in a month. Ended up her body was filling with fluids. For a woman who is 34 years of age, eats healthy and exercises three times a week. It ended up traced to her family with heart disease. Anyhow six bypasses later, she is in good hands at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. I was trying to do the commute to see her ,but funds are tight. They have set up a fund at Umpqua "Annette Mott Fund", so far it has generated $50 in it. . Friends and family created a chipin too. http://annettemott.chipin.com

It wasnt long after that we put the boat away for the winter. Once the weather starts warming up, I will get to that crappy ignition switch. Lol.

It appears we need to get new stickers this year. Next month the old ones will expire. From what I saw on the local channel the Board of Supers wants to charge for them with a $1,000 fine if you are caught without it. They are even thinking about using a transponder in the boat so the patrol can just aim at you to see if you are compliant. The transponders would zero out if you leave the county.
Like I said I watched this on TV.
