Default Capitol City Drag Boat Association

When I was a kid, my family was in in a drag boat club that I think was called Capitol City Drag Boat Association (in Sacramento, CA). Does anyone remember this club? They used to put on a race at Lake Natoma until the late 70's. Let me know what you know about the club. Thanks!!

I knew he was involved with the club and built motors for most of the guys who raced, but didn't want to bug him. What was I thinking??? This is nostalgia and everyone enjoys nostalgia. LOL. Thanks again for the info.

@Gone Green - Thanks for the info. I will give him a call next week and see what he knows.

I was also hoping that there are some former members on this board that would reply.

If my memory is correct the race was cancelled because the club couldn't get insurance after there was at least one fatal accident (maybe 2). I don't remember what year, but my dad would use our Flatty as a tow boat at the races. I would ride along and help out. I would have been too young in 1974, so it was probably later than 1974. I could definitely be wrong as I am going off my childhood memories...and that was a few Summers ago. LOL. Thanks for all your input.

Thanks for the info. I remember Lee...he lived on the same street as me in Granite Bay. He may still live in the same house. Does anyone remember when he built the rocket boat (or whatever the propulsion was) to make an attempt at setting the world record?
