JustSquitin I have met you at CFW before. Sorry to hear about your boat. I almost came out to CFW on Sunday and Monday, but went to the river instead. I hope all works out for the best!! Glad to hear you are OK and that there were only minor injuries.

Lawyers Suck IMO,i have been involved in a few lawsuits indirectly (had to go to depositions) over boat crash involving friends
Lots of peeps are sue happy and it makes me sick
one is crazy to even sell a hotboat these days and think they are not liable (signed waiver or not)if someone gets hurt or worse
So obviously there is a police report that is available to the public?what does it say or the investigation is ongoing?

Dude, thats pretty f--ked up! It is a big deal when your heart and soul goes into things like this. It's not about the dollar value of the boat it's what you make of it and what you trully love. No big deal on the damage? I don't know about you, but i don't see a motor sticking out of the water. I've had a motor under water and it isn't cheap to fix. Have a little bit more compassion before you speak. Oh and BTW; IM keeping it real!!!

Chances are, if you are rolling a $2000 boat that is what your budget allows (usually a little over your budget). And if you are rolling a $20000 boat that is what your budget allows (usually a little over your budget). I know if my boat sank today, I would be just as devastated as I would have been if it were my first boat. $1650 It would have been more difficult to replace that $1650 boat then it would be to replace my SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive boat today.
Value, cost, replaceability and ability to replace are all WORLDS apart.

I had asked earlier what happened. I always want to know the cause of accidents on the water. I lost a friend a few years ago due to an alcohol related accident. I am wondering if it was mechanical, alcohol, foolish or a freak situation.

I AM THINKING FOR CFW SAKE, EVERYONE ONE SHOULD ZIP IT.. I totally respect the personsal frustrations here, and jokes and relationships, but leave the lake details out. There aren't many places here in Ca. where you can have the fun we have there. Why take the chance of feeding lawyers and/or law enforcement any more info to make it harder for us to play..
