Default Folsom Lake water level and speed limits?

I have a buddy who needs to test run a 35' Fountain with twin 500hp I/O's. Should be taking it out in the next 2-3 weeks. How is the water level at Folsom and are there restricted speed limits? This boat should run 75 - 80 mph and he can not take a chance of hitting a sand bar...

He should be fine. The water level is hovering right around 402' and should probably go up a little with the storms that are approaching. They do not put a speed limit on the lake until it drops well below the 400' mark. Even then I had my twin engine boat out there and was running in the neighborhood of 115 m.p.h. with no problems or hassles from the Rangers. As long as he stays in the center of the channels/lake and stays away from the buoys he be'll fine. Most of the hazards are clearly marked. If you/he have any questions send me a PM, I could even meet him out there to show him the "ropes"...lol

This time of year, water is perfect if weather is good.

Rangers shouldn't mess with you. I go there just about every weekend. Never had an issue in the winter. Summer is a whole different animal with water conditions and rangers.

Could have something to do with the new spillway. Lots of concrete going in that. But if I heard right years ago when it went up for bid, that is going to have a concrete plant on-sight. I know there is a wide haul road that goes under the old Dyke8 entrance. I think it's being used to haul mat'l in and out of the job.

Yeah top pic is what it looks like at end of Douglas (Granite Bay Launch). And No ramp at Folsom Point (Old Dyke 8) is dry, hundred feet or so down from end of ramp. Haven't been to Browns Ravine in a while, but I can't see that there is any way ramp is still usable there either. RattleSnake Bar ramp is dry as well. Rain is coming this week.

It looks like the top boat ramp at Granite Bay (there are 4 ramps at different levels not including the 5 Percent ramp). They are still launching off the lowest ramp where the cars can be seen in the picture.
The worst day boating is better than the best day doing just about anything else!!

FYI--- If does get any lower this year (which I doubt it will unless those idiots controlling it really screw up) there is one more ramp at Granite Bay that hasn't even surfaced yet.

We'd like to make a couple runs there this year, let us know.
