    Default my rubicon adventure

here some pictures of something alittle different

if you have never been on the rubicon you have to try it we went from loon lake to buck lake. 7 miles took us 7 hours :o we stopped and watch some other trucks make it through they looked at us like we were crazy being on quads but it can be done. out on the trail you will see trucks if you want to call them that, that were made for one reason only ands thats to climb over anything in their way

I’ve always wanted to do that trip. Great pics. How many days did you camp?

we went up friday and spent the night, cut it short and came back saturday night. it got down into the teens with wind friday night and did not have the right camping gear. no fires allowed right now so when the sun went down it got COLD we are going back after the first of the year. if you have not done it you have to. it is one of the things i always said i wanted to do and it was great. i need to get more seat time on my quad so i will be better prepared.

Looks like you had a blast Pat. We love the Rubicon. And we go to Bucks Lake quite often as well, its beautiful up there. Hats off to you though, no way in hell I'd do it on a quad.

we started at loon lake and made it to bucks. took us 7 hours with stopping to talk and waiting for a couple of trucks to be moved. on the way out we stopped by little sluce for a couple of hours and watched a couple of rigs try to make it through. people looked at us like we were crazy on the quads but we made it it was a great time. next we are going in from the tahoe side

i posted on your other one you started too .. i havent been up there since i sold my jeep to build my boat 1 yr ago now .. i built my jeep Stout as can be and still drive on road Barely lol .. i use to wheel with some extreme hardcore guys who Build there onw Long arm suspentions and stretch frames 10 inchs and all kinds of wild stuff . going with them if we took 7 hrs to get to Buck from Loon they wanna kill us .. usually bout a 3 hr trip from loon to buck and thats just cruising . ive made the trail from Buck to loon at night in just under 2 hrs and ive never broke anything (oh except my Manual Shifter from a Poor weld when i put body lift on) lol .kinda hard to shift with a Nub 1/2 ich stickin out of trans lol. just gotta know lines and angle to take and you can fly thru it .. another trail you might wanna check out on the quads is Barret Lake trail its about 20 miles closer to hwy50 on same Ice House Road .. its near a few other lakes not sure of road to turn on but its Way prettier there and trail is alil tougher in couple spots .. and the neat thing is ... theres an old Military pLANE THATR CRASHED BACK IN THE 50'S thats still up there . about a 1 mile hike to it . if ya ever do go there DO NOT take any part of the Plane its a HUGE FINE .its a Historical land mark .. another trail that is fun is Fordyce trail up near Donner Summit .. alot tougher then any part of Rubicon and alot longer ... just gotta watch the River crossings on the Quads lol anyway welcome to my neck of the woods glad you had a good trip i drive up there juss to see the sites cause it never gets old seeing such Beauty
