Default Can You Help Me Find This Vintage Mercury?

Hi. Yes, you can see from my avatar that I'm one of those v-drive circle jerks. I did however grow up with Dad's outboard, a Holiday Red 1959 4 cyl. 45 hp Merc Mark 58A on a 14' plywood runabout. We still have the same boat with the Merc and it runs like a top!
I would like to build a 14' Raveau type runabout, but before I begin construction, I need to find an engine. The engine I'm looking for is the big brother to Dad's engine, the 1959 6 cyl. 75hp Mark 78 (or Mark 78A). I don't want a 1958. I want a 1959 (white, red or blue powerhead), but I will consider an early '60s white Merc 800 as a second choice. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

PM me or E-mail me at eric.tolnes@verizon.net

    Thanks,
    Eric

I believe I may have an 800 and may also have a 700. I ran them on a a Glaspar G-3. They have not been run in years--I can check tomorrow. (310) 488-3563 Rod
