I saw one for sale and guy claims its an 80mph boat. Looks like its in pretty good shape. What questions to ask? Hours on motor? Prop?
TIA

if its set up right and the hull is in good shape 80 should be no problem...if your thinking of buying it make sure the core is good...those streams are known for rotting out!...theres a ton of info about those boats over on www.screamandfly.com

I have driven a Venom with a 300xs ....scary for a guy used to tunnels. Neat to look at, and they are fast in the right hands...I personally would probably never own one. Some people love them ... they just handle so differently, I don't feel comfortable. I prefer a rock solid feel of an air entrapment tunnel.![]()
My buddy had a Valero with a ported 2.4 running a SRX prop. I was holding the GPS at 85. Scared the crap out of me.
Any of the 1st gen streams need to be recored. Out of all the ones I have seen or worked on only 2 passed, one had no core (my HST) and the other was a garage cream puff.
where is the problem at and how does a person check
to find out where the core problem is?
what is considered the weak points on a hydrostream boat
thanks
The transom around the splashwell and the core all over the bottom. Take a hard plastic handle screwdriver and tap all over the bottom, is should sound a solid "thwack", but it's not going too lol. If you know how to drive a v botttom and it is set up right they are a blast. If your used to training wheels they will be a hand full. Tunnels you sit, steer and play with the trim button, a pad bottom V you have to know how to drive.
