Wow, they are going to let a boat race happen there? They raced NJBA there back in 83 and 84, but they didn't last long. I'll be a specatator for sure. Now there is a lot of upper end homes all around the lake, I didn't figure they would ever let an event happen there again.

This is going to be cool! I will be supporting the most respectable outboard church in this event twice!

    Default MAXI Only Races Wiskers....

Maxi has two daughter that will be driving their twin engine 12 foot Schiada. I think that is Division II

Whiskers really has an "H" in it except when it comes to Maxi's Wiskers...

Interest is growing for this Mini Enduro, I think it would be great to see a MINI GN-7 out there...and Maxi in something....

Found a great report in www.boatracingfacts.com

The thread was on the OMC rotary engine development program circa 70's

The true fear of the rotary engine was its clean emissions. That the EPA would would kill the two stroke and that was the bread and butter of the industry i.e. banning 2-stroke motor bikes on the street

How fast was a Rotary ? well if it was running it was leading, inc the Parker. On the opening lap of the Parker 9 hr 13 mile course it was the rotary's leading the 7-liter hydros chasing at 140 mph , leader of opening lap wins a thousand dollars !!!

    Default The 9 Hour Enduro...

First off, a grand in the days of the Parker 9 was a ton of money...I need to check my programs, and will, but I don't think they paid any lap money for the first four laps....I know that I led four or eight laps in 1970 with a DeSilva Wing, which was the first OUTBOARD to ever collect lps money.

    $25 a lap for the leader...Yes, wes, Fred Hauenstein and I led 8 laps, $200 BUCKS...We led laps 5 through 12...maybe 13, then broke a crank...It is all on www.boatracingfacts.com somewhere!

Jimbo (McConnell) can explain the rotary's problems...all we need to do is ask him, and three days later we'll have the answers!

But a grand for leading the first lap, never happened...In the Six Hour of Paris, the legend was whoever led the first lap never won, and various drivers were known to slow to NOT lead the first lap, but not Renato Molinari! He was the "BEST" and he was ging to show you he was the best!

There is a DAMN good chance of side bets. At my Enduro, I'm having a Calcutta with 20% of the Calcutta going to the winning boat.

In case you haven't heard, MAX will be driving a COR 2/0 Sleek Craft, OUTBOARD, at havasu Landing President's weekend...

Ron I think you could also mention that the rules are more or less guide lines depending on who shows up. Depending on the boats and types and the outlooks of those there, adjustments can be made.

    Default Rule #11

    11. Rules committee reserves the right to no let you run, and they can also assign your boat any class that they deem correct.

The Race Committee will make the final judgements....Year one is for fun...
