Have a technical question; I took appart a formula runabout 18', meaning I took the engine and steering controls out of it. I'm building a houseboat on a 24' pontoon. The whole original set up has rotary steering with double cables. The old teleflex cables are too short for the houseboat since the helm is going to be farther out. I need longer cables but that is not my question. What I want to know, and also which is the cheaper route, is if I can change it to a single teleflex cable and get a new helm or since this engine is 150HP do I need to stick with two. Now take in mind that I'm building a houseboat and its not going to brake any speeding records. Any advice is appreciated.
