    Default ethanol fuel?

Did a search on here couldn't find anything. I have a 24 skater with 225 efi pro max's on the back. I'm getting ready Ti store it in my shop. It's not going to get that cold (50's) bit I'm worried about the fuel in the original tanks. Should I just drain them or put the Additive and sta bil in them?

Also what plugs u guys run in your pro max's. Thinking of going to ngk but can't find a plug number cross reference?

how full are your tanks? I think that adding stabil and running it for about an hour is the best thing to do. If you have it available you could put some av gas and stabil in the tanks. The AV gas would compensate for the octane loss while the gas just sat and the stabil would preserve the motor. On second thought you could just put stabil in the tanks, still run it and then when your boating season starts again put some higher octane fuel in to compensate for the octane loss. The reason I say av gas is because it has (to my knowledge) no ethanol. What is the moisture level where the boat is kept? I know one of the fears is that empty tanks will allow moisture in. I am not sure if fuel additives prevent this or not.

They have both half full (20 gallons in each) it is a cool dry part of my shop but I don't want to take the chance. I gave found star tron fuel additive on another forum that alot of guys are using. I run premium too.

Stabil will work, but if it were mine I would drain the tanks if it will be some time before you use it again. I use my old fuel in my truck and lawn mower. Mercury parts are just too expencive to chance old fuel IMHO.

Are they fiberglass tanks? From what I understand the ethanol will dissolve the fiberglass resin..... What I heard anyway.

Do you live in an area you can run the boat during the winter? I've found that's the best way to keep it all fresh lol. You Gota deal with the cold though lol. But you are cycling fuel more often and not letting it sit as long.

The only fuel treatment I've found that works is the marine formula sta-bil.. if your skater has the original glass built in tanks they should be drained and flushed and NOTHING but non-ethanol fuel should be used in them. As much there should be a set of new style racor micron filters before the fuel pumps.

I lay my motors up with a small 3 gallon portable fuel tank with race gas, 1/2 a can of sea foam and a heavy dose of the sta-bil. Run them each for 15 mins, fog the hell out of them with Merc or BRP fogging oil, (the aftermarket shit is useless) and call it good. In the spring pull the injectors out, send them to Brucato for service, replace the water pump impellers and have a happy season.

Any of the marinas or state run facilities.. a few gas stations carry recreational fuel now too.. just have to call around.

    Pure-gas.org
Has a list for all non ethanol fuel across US.
    Avgas is a better alternative.
