A friend of mine wants to own a 30'+ v-bottom, step pad, closed deck with a nice v-berth or similar sleeping accomodations and wants to run twin large outboards. I think he would like to run out of Florida out to the nearby islands. He is a very accomplished boater and wants to be able to run probaly short of 100 but for sure over 60-65 MPH. He would prefer a west coast boat as he lives in Oregon but is having a tough time finding any builder doing outboards. I think the only we know of is Eliminator on a 38' Eagle. Any thoughts and recommendations are welcome and new or very good used boats will be considered. Thank you..
Go over to screamandfly.com and check out the thread on the 30' Phantom that is running 100 mph with a pair of 300XSs. That is the only outboard powered 30' V I know of that will run those kinds of speeds with twin outboards.........no other V bottoms will come close (including the Eliminator you mention). The Phantom is a superb rough water boat as well, with a lot of offshore racing heritage. It has a narrow beam, which makes for a small cockpit/cabin, but that is what makes it perform so well.
